Vordering m.b.t. tesisse/ verhandelinge vir Desember 2009

Vandag is die laaste dag waarop tesisse/ verhandelinge opgelaai kan word. Sover is daar 239 tesisse/ verhandelinge opgelaai op SUNeTD<http://etd.sun.ac.za/jspui/>. Baie dankie aan diegene wat hul departemente herinner het, en 'n baie spesiale dankie aan Anita Liebenberg wat gedurende hierdie oorgangsfase nog bereid was om ondersteuning aan kliënte te verleen. Paulette Talliard  se aanstelling by die ePakhuiskantoor is geldig vanaf 1 Januarie 2010, en dit sal dan in die toekoms haar verantwoordelikheid wees om hierdie tipe navrae te hanteer. Ons sien baie daarna uit dat Paulette by ons gaan aansluit, en glo sy gaan sommer 'n baie groot aanwins wees vir die kantoor met haar bereidwilligheid om te leer en ook die positiewe energie wat sy met haar sal saambring. Baie welkom Paulette!

DSpace Beta

Julle is welkom om te gaan kyk na die nuwe DSpace, wat uiteindelik die sentrale argief van all US navorsingsuitsette sal bevat. Besoek https://scholar.sun.ac.za/ Belangrik: dit is slegs 'n beta weergawe, wat beteken dat dit nog in ontwikkeling is en dat ons nog daarmee eksperimenteer.

Teken aan by  https://scholar.sun.ac.za/ldap-login om jouself op die stelsel te registreer.

Nuus sal via Web 2.0 hulpmiddels soos Twitter en Facebook gepos word, omdat dit is waar ons kliënte is - veral daardie wat nooit gebruik maak van die fisiese biblioteek nie. Dit is nog nie wyd bemark nie, en daar sal aan 'n bemarkingsplan gewerk word sodra DSpace kliënt-gereed is.

Dear Colleagues

Progress re submission of theses/ dissertations for December 2009

Today is the last day any submissions will be accepted. So far 239 have been submitted to SUNeTD<http://etd.sun.ac.za/jspui/>. Thank you so much for encouraging your clients, and a special thanks to Anita Liebenberg for handling all the client inquiries for this round. Paulette Talliard will be joining the eRepository Office as of from 1 January 2010, and then it will become her responsibility to handle all inquiries. We are very much looking forward to Paulette joining us, and we believe she will be a great asset to this office! Welcome Paulette!

DSpace in beta version

You are welcome to get a sneak preview of the new DSpace, which will in the end become the central archive of all research output at SU. Visit https://scholar.sun.ac.za/ Important: this is just a beta version, which means it is still in development, and we are still experimenting.

To register yourself on the system, log in at https://scholar.sun.ac.za/ldap-login with your network username and password.

News will be posted via Web 2.0 tools such as Twitter and Facebook, because that is where our clients are - especially those who never make use of the physical library space. We haven't started marketing it yet, and will start working on a marketing plan with the relevant stakeholders asap.
