Dear IR and Open Scholarship Communities,

the Open Scholarship Office at the University of Pretoria would like to
present a 3 or 5 day workshop on Open Scholarship, Open Access and
DSpace for institutional repositories early in 2016. This is an
extension of needs expressed in the afternoon session of the IR Forum
hosted earlier this year.

The aim of the workshop will be to assist the Open Scholarship and IR
community members with practical training on the technical as well as
the operational side of DSpace (version 5.3) and workshops on other
relevant issues. We are still planning the content and context in which
it will be presented, but it will be most helpful if you can assist with
identifying the core issues and challenges that training should be
provided for to ensure a worthwhile and meaningful workshop.

Hope to hear from you soon in this regard.

Kindest
L.

   Hi Paul-
I use a Python script to harvest via OAI:
 https://github.com/vphill/pyoaiharvester

You can specify the metadata format (example xoai) as well.
I use it to pull our 7000+ ETDs in just a few seconds, let me know if
you have any questions about it.

Subject: [dspace-tech] OAI Harvesting Question in 5.4

Couple of OAI related questions on the latest version of Dspace. We
are in the midst of upgrading a Dspace 1.5 site to 5.4. Have it running
and the last step is to get OAI harvesting back working.

 Question 1:

URL in version 1.5 to harvest records that worked was
http://scholars.indstate.edu/oai/request?verb=ListRecords&metadataPrefix=oai_dc&set=hdl_10484_1466

What seem to work in 5.4 is
http://tbr2.indstate.edu/oai/request?verb=ListRecords&metadataPrefix=oai_dc&set=com_10484_1466

Whats the difference from "com_10484_1466" and "hdl_10484_1466"? The
hdl part doesn't seem to work on 5.4

 Question 2:

When we use the 5.4 URL to harvest it says: "Results fetched 0 - 100 of
1280"

How do we get it to give all 1280 records at once?

 Thanks Paul
