Dear Colleagues

With Berlin 10 Open Access Conference (www.berlin10.org) coming up, we would like to also create an awareness of open access amongst people not part of the academic environment, and how it touches/touched their lives. If you have a story to share with regard to an article/thesis/etc. which relates to the man on the street, please share it with Stephanie Nieuwoudt (journalist): snieuw at gmail.com. Not only will it demonstrate the difference Open Access is making, but it will also give some exposure to your jorunal/your department, and add to the research profile of the University.

Die Berlin 10 Ooptoegangkonferensie (www.berlin10.org) is om die draai, en ons wil graag ook 'n groter bewustheid skep by die publiek dat oop toegang tot navorsing wat met belastingbetalers se geld befonds is, hulle ook raak. Ons is op soek na stories wat die man op straat sl raak - hetsy 'n artikel in 'n ooptoegangtydskrif/tesis/ens. Deel dit asb. met Stephanie Nieuwoudt (joernalis): snieuw at gmail.com. Nie net sal dit demonstreer dat oop toegang 'n verskil maak in mense se lewens nie, maar dit sal ook meer blootstelling gee vir die ooptoegangtydskrif/u departement, en die Universiteit se navorsingsprofiel verder help verhoog.
