[SUNScholar] Tessisse vir Maart 2013-gradeplegtigheid/Theses for March 2013 graduation

Dear Colleagues

This e-mail to communicate the submission dates for theses/dissertations for the March 2013 graduation:

Nomination to commence on 16 January 2013
Closing date for nomination is 27 February 2013

Please refer students to http://library.sun.ac.za/English/howdoi/Pages/Submit-my-thesis-online.aspx for guidelines.

Please note:

-          It is mandatory that all theses/dissertations (unless it counts less than 50% of the final mark allocated - then optional) be submitted to SUNScholar<http://scholar.sun.ac.za/>, for future digital preservation of the research assets of our University.

-          Please use Supervisor for both theses and dissertations, and not Promoter/Promotor.

-          Please confirm that students have added the correct information to the front pages (incl. title page). Often we get that the name of the faculty is completely wrong, the submission period date is not correct, etc.

-          The crest is to be added to the title page only, and as a watermark.

-          Please note that text as part of the front matter should be in black only, according to our policy.

-          We strongly suggest that students make use of the services of a language editor, since most of our research will be published in the open domain to increase the research profile and visibility of our research internationally.

Hiermee belangrike datums aangaande tesisse/proefskrifte met die oog op die Maart 2013 gradeplegtigheid:

Nominasies kan gedoen word vanaf 16 Januarie 2013
Sluitingsdatum vir nominasies is 27 Februarie 2013

Verwys asb. studente na http://library.sun.ac.za/Afrikaans/howdoi/Pages/Submit-my-thesis-online.aspx vir riglyne.

Ter kennisname:

-          Dit is verpligtend dat alle tesisse/proefskrifte (tensy dit minder as 50% van finale punt tel - dan opsioneel), opgelaai word op  SUNScholar<http://scholar.sun.ac.za/>, vir toekomstige digitale bewaring van navorsingsuitsette van ons Universiteit.

-          Gebruik asb. Studieleier vir beide tesisse en proefskrifte, en nie Promotor nie.

-          Maak asb. seker dat studente korrekte inligting op die voorste bladsye ingesleutel het, bv. die titelbladsy. Ons ondervind dikwels dat hulle die naam van die fakulteit verkeerd aanbring, of die gradeplegtigheidsdatum, ens.

-          Die crest moet slegs op die titelbladsy as 'n watermerk aangebring word.

-          Teks moet hoofsaaklik swart wees, volgens die riglyne in die jaarboek.

-          Ons wil graag aanbeveel dat studente gebruik maak van taalversorgers, omdat meeste navorsing uiteindelik binne die openbare domein eindig om ons navorsingsprofiel en die sigbaarheid van ons navorsing internasionaal te verhoog.
