Dear Colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to share an opportunity from the IFLA Management of Library Associations Section (MLAS), which is currently seeking individuals to join its AI Advisory Board. The Advisory Board is intended to support and advise MLAS on matters relating to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and libraries, particularly in areas of innovation, practice, policy, and professional development.
According to the request received, MLAS is looking for individuals who are highly knowledgeable in AI and libraries and who have demonstrated tangible contributions, expertise, or results in this area.
In this regard, I would like to invite interested members from the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Division Committee (SSA RDC) who have expertise, experience, or active engagement in AI-related initiatives within the library and information field to submit the following:
• Full name
• Institutional affiliation
• Email address
• A short bio/profile highlighting expertise, contributions, and experience related to AI and libraries
Kindly submit your information to momensah at ug.edu.gh<mailto:momensah at ug.edu.gh> and copy nerisa at informationafrica.org<mailto:nerisa at informationafrica.org> / richardseglo1 at gmail.com<mailto:richardseglo1 at gmail.com> no later than close of day on Friday, 15 May 2026, for onward submission and consideration.
Thank you very much, and I encourage interested colleagues with relevant expertise to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to global discussions and initiatives on AI within the library profession.
Warm regards,
Prof. Monica Mensah Danquah
