Apologies for cross-posting.
Dear colleagues,
We are excited to announce an update to DataCite’s membership model in line with our guiding commitment to provide open infrastructure for the global research community.
We are making a deliberate shift away from a transactional model based on DOI registration quantities to a collective funding model for shared open infrastructure. We’re also simplifying how fees are applied and adjusting costs based on country-level economic indicators to achieve a more balanced distribution across member organizations.
You can read more about the motivations for these changes in our recent announcement <https://doi.org/10.5438/gc07-ah64>.
DataCite infrastructure is free and open for everyone, and membership pathways <https://datacite.org/become-a-member> provide opportunities for research organizations to receive additional services and benefits. To learn more about membership, you can get in touch with our community team <mailto:support at datacite.org>, submit a membership inquiry <http://datacite.org/membership-inquiry>, or join us for a Membership Essentials webinar <https://datacite.org/event/datacite-membership-essentials/> on May 7.
Sincerely,
Paul
