This is a reminder that you may wish to register
<https://beta.jisc.ac.uk/events/open-access-scholarly-publishing-association-oaspajisc-publishing-workflows>
for the first in a series of Jisc hosted online events in early 2023 which
will present four workflows, each of which is intended to showcase a
possible future, in which persistent identifiers (PIDs) are used throughout
the research lifecycle to enable automation, efficiency, new discovery
tools, and analysis. Each webinar will be run in collaboration with a
relevant organisation (OASPA, ARMA, UKRI, and ARDC) and focus on one of the
following workflows:

   - Content Publication
   - International Research Management
   - Funding
   - Data

These workflows offer a vision of a PID-optimised future, created with the
goal to inspire all those working to support research and innovation to
consider how they could use powerful, global, open research information
infrastructures in new ways to improve the health and resilience of the
ecosystem

This first online event
<https://beta.jisc.ac.uk/events/open-access-scholarly-publishing-association-oaspajisc-publishing-workflows>
on January 25 will be run in partnership with OASPA and will raise
awareness of the workflows, in particular the publishing workflow, and
demonstrate the value of PID implementations to publishers as well as the
costs of not implementing them.

The webinar will be introduced by *Christopher Brown* (Jisc). *Josh
Brown *(MoreBrains)
will then offer an overview of the workflows project and its outputs. *Catriona
MacCallum *(Hindawi) will outline why publishers should care about
implementing PIDs before *Yvonne Campfens *(OA Switchboard) introduces *PIDs
in practice for **publishers *with a panel of three publishers that have
successfully implemented PIDs with each zooming in on one specific area of
the publishing workflow. the mini panel features *Johannes Wagner *(Copernicus
Publications), *Lyubomir Penev *(Pensoft) and *Rob O’Donnell *and *Miquel
Peralta*  (Rockefeller University Press).

There will be time for questions following this.

We invite all to register for this free event

Bernie
