The DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Indigenous Knowledge Systems, with it's
hub at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is currently actively
involved in the establishment of a UNESCO Category II African Institute of
Indigenous Knowledge Systems (AIIKS). This is a consortium of 20 African
Higher Education and autonomous Research Institutes from Francophone,
Anglophone and Lusophone African Institutes.



Among its international activities is to promote IKS-based digitsation in
support of Re-visioning of the Knowledge Lifecycle. Therefore, as part of
it's human capital development and sustainability, the AIIKS is issuing a
call for internship Applications from Postgraduate students, Early Career
Knowledge Workers and Knowledge Managers in ICT, to build a
multidisciplinary cohort for promoting IKS-based digitisation and
preservation within and outside Africa.

sharing the call widely amongst your postgraduate students and emerging
scholar/knowledge manager networks.



Interested mentors with relevant experience are invited to participate in a
planned workshop on IKS-based digitisation: Re-visioning of the Knowledge
Lifecycle to contribute to the development of this internship initiative.
