Dear Colleagues,



The Library of Alexandria is hosting and organizing a conference on
Disaster Management Planning in Libraries, Museums and Archives on the
23rd and 24th of October.

The main theme of the conference is “Our Heritage at Risk: The Challenges
and Response” with special emphasis on disaster management and cultural
heritage in the Arab World and methods to plan ahead to prevent the
cultural heritage loss in Libraries, Museums and Archives. Themes of the
sessions shall discuss key issues concerning methods and techniques for the
protection of cultural heritage, risk mitigation, loss prevention of
cultural heritage and digital preservation. Speakers who experienced the
loss of cultural heritage due to natural disasters or wars will be invited
to share their experiences in addition to the participation of important
international organization working in this field like IFLA, UNESCO and
other organizations working in this domain. The conference shall also
discuss best practices in risk mitigation and loss preventions.

Speakers from all over the world will be gathered to share their
experiences and efforts done in this respect. For registration and more
