Webinar: "Safeguarding Research in South Africa - iThenticate & Crossref Similarity Check"
A variety of similarity detection tools can be utilized to assist journals in detecting plagiarism within the online scholarly environment. The use of these tools can assist editors to protect the quality and integrity of the journal, but also of all individuals associated with the journal. Tools often used include Turnitin<http://turnitin.com/> and iThenticate<http://www.ithenticate.com/>. The ideal would be to have these tools integrated as part of the scholarly publishing workflow, and fortunately online journal management systems such as Open Journal Systems (OJS)<https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/> and ScholarOne<http://ipscience.thomsonreuters.com/product/scholarone/?utm_source=Adwords&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=scholar1&gclid=CLjKpNH5hs4CFUSfGwodnDALkg&gclsrc=aw.ds> make provision for this.

ASSAf takes pride in hosting the following event which aims to help South African journals adhere to international high quality standards of trustedness.

We would like to invite all journal editors and others interested to the mentioned webinar, to be presented by Shivendra Naidoo (CrossRef/iThenticate/Turnitin and Nadine Wubbeling (ASSAf).
