You are invited to the following Research Data Management workshop, presented by the Digital Curation Centre (UK) & NeDICC:
About the workshop

Funding bodies are increasingly requiring evidence of adequate and appropriate provisions for data management and curation in new grant funding applications. At the same time, data - funded with tax payers money - is increasingly required to be openly accessible for researchers to build on and for the wider research community to benefit from.

The Network of Data & Information Curation Communities (NeDICC)<http://nedicc.com/>(SA) in collaboration with the Digital Curation Centre (DCC)<http://www.dcc.ac.uk/>(UK) are pleased to announce a workshop on Research Data Management practices and principles. The workshop brings together important role players and experts in the field of digital curation, namely: Joy Davidson (Associate Director, Digital Curation Centre<http://www.dcc.ac.uk/about-us/dcc-staff-directory/joy-davidson>), Sarah Jones (Senior Institutional Support Officer, Digital Curation Centre<http://www.dcc.ac.uk/about-us/dcc-staff-directory/sarah-jones>), James L (Jim) Mullins (Dean of Libraries, Purdue University<https://www.lib.purdue.edu/about/deanoflibraries>), Elias Makonko (Research Data Curator, HSRC<http://www.hsrc.ac.za/en/staff/view/?i=E.S.&f=Elias&l=Makonko>), and Anwar Vahed (Head: ICT for Earth Observation (ICT4EO)<http://www.csir.co.za/researcher_profiles/Dr_Anwar_Vahed.html> & DIRISA Manager<http://www.eresearch.ac.za/sites/default/files/image_tool/images/140/DIRISA_busPlan_eResConf.pdf>).

Librarians, knowledge management workers, data curators, researchers and others interested (especially from the Greater Gauteng Region who did not have the opportunity befofe) are invited to register for this workshop.
