The CADARN Learning Portal has produced and published the first of a series
of brief guides aimed at helping staff to create OER. The aim has been to
distill the main issues so that they can be presented on a single page of
A4. They will be published bilingually (Welsh on one side, English on the
other). The first takes staff through the decision making process regarding
what they wish to allow or disallow in the use of their published
material. *Based
on the answers to questions regarding attribution, re-use/re-mixing,
derivative licences and commercial use, the guide points to the appropriate
licence to select.*

The decision making tool was derived from an existing OER (
http://creativecommons.org.au/content/licensing-flowchart.pdf) and is
published as an OER itself, thus illustrating the way in which OERs can be
re-purposed, refined and adapted.
