*Based on 2013 @scimago data, @PLOSONE also top of the list for 3yr total
cites, ahead of PNAS, Nature, Cell. details here.* The same is true if one
uses the JCR impact factors for 2013 and multiply these by the total number
of articles to get total citations for the period used. So, if we are
talking about were the exciting science is being published as measured by
it being cited, it is pretty clear that PLOS ONE has more impactful papers
than Nature, Science, Cell and PNAS.
