Subject: [Ojs] Scholarly Publishing in Africa Survey

Dear Colleagues

On behalf of Abby Clobridge (Clobridge Consulting) and Susan Murray (AJOL)

Invitation to Participate in Scholarly Publishing in Africa Survey

With all of the changes in scholarly communication and ICTs over the past few years, Clobridge Consulting and AJOL are interested in learning more about the current state of scholarly publishing throughout Africa. Clobridge Consulting is working in partnership with African Journals Online (AJOL) to conduct a research study to collect, analyze, and disseminate knowledge in this arena – in order to share best practices, identify emerging trends, and gain insights from editors about their successes and concerns. While a good deal of research has been conducted over the past few years regarding global trends in the shift from print to digital, changing dissemination and business models, and uptake in technology to support publishing, no research has focused exclusively on these issues within Africa. This project is designed to explore such questions specifically within the African context.

More details and access to the survey are available at: http://clobridgeconsulting.com/scholarly-publishing-in-africa

All journal editors and publishers of African-based journals are invited to participate in the study -- please don't hesitate to share this invitation more broadly.

The survey is available in English and French. An offline version is available upon request. To request an offline version of the survey or to share comments, questions, or concerns, please email kim at clobridgeconsulting.com<mailto:kim at clobridgeconsulting.com>.

The survey will close on Friday, September 6, 2013.

Kind regards
Ina
