vacancy.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

● Act as the primary advisor at UP regarding data management for
research; 
● Contribute to the evaluation, development and usefulness of systems
supporting storage and appropriate access to University research data;

● Liaise with relevant internal and external groups to promote
research data management; 
● Represent the University of Pretoria on research data management
activities where appropriate; 
● Supervise and manage performance of staff. 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

● Relevant doctorate in Information Science or related subject field;

● Five years of management experience in an academic library /
information service or similar; 
● Knowledge of and experience in research data management and
co-ordination; 
● Excellent knowledge of the information environment; 
● Excellent knowledge of the research process; 
● Experience of the development, implementation and maintenance of
e-information systems; 
● Experience of the information / knowledge environment of teaching,
learning and research; 
● Project management and change management experience; 
● Research and development experience; 
● Ability to adapt and apply information technology developments for
the information and knowledge environment; 
● In-depth understanding and knowledge of the information industry,
information science, teaching, learning and research / e-Research in a
higher education environment; 
● Proven management skills, strategic thinking, conceptual and
holistic abilities. 


The total remuneration package for this position ranges from
approximately R450 765 to R574 505 (excluding medical aid benefits) as
determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED
medical
aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.

PLIGTE: 

● Tree op as primêre raadgewer aan UP oor databestuu
r vir
navorsingsdoeleindes; 
● Lewer ‘n bydrae tot
 die evaluering, ontwikkeling en toepaslikheid
van stelsels wat berging en toegang tot die Universiteit se
navorsingsdata ondersteun; 
● Skakel met toepaslike interne en eksterne groepe om
navorsingsdatabestuur te bevorder; 
● Verteenwoordig die Universiteit van Pretoria tydens aktiwiteite
aangaande navorsingsdatabestuur soos toepaslik; 
● Hou toesig oor en bestuur prestasie van personeel. 


MINIMUM VEREISTES: 

● Toepaslike doktorsgraad in Inligtingkunde of verwante vakgebied; 
● Vyf jaar bestuurservaring in ‘n akademiese
biblioteek/inligtingsdiens of gelykstaande; 
● Kennis en ervaring van navorsingdatabestuur en koördinering; 
● Uitstekende kennis van die inligtingsomgewing; 
● Uitstekende kennis van die navorsingsproses; 
● Ondervinding van die ontwikkeling, implementering en onderhoud van
e-inligtingstelsels; 
● Ervaring van die inligting / kennisomgewing van onderrig, leer en
navorsing; 
● Ervaring in Projekbestuur en Veranderingbestuur; 
● Ervaring in Navorsing en Ontwikkeling; 
● Grondige begrip en kennis van die inligtingbedryf,
inligtingwetenskap, onderrig, leer en navorsing / e-Navorsing in die
hoër onderwysomgewing; 
● Vermoë om ontwikkelings in inligtingtegnologie aan te pas en
toepaslik te maak vir die inligting- en kennisomgewing; 
● Bewese bestuursvaardighede, strategiese denke en konseptuele en
holistiese vaardighede. 


Volgens UP-beleid en -riglyne wissel die jaarlikse vergoedingspakket
vir hierdie pos tussen ongeveer R450 765 tot R574 505 (mediese
fondsbydrae uitgesluit). UP onderskryf die BESTMED mediese skema en
dra
50% van die toepaslike maandelikse paaiement by. 


Aansoekers word versoek om elektronies aansoek te doen met vermelding
