<DIV>DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY SERVICES UP RESEARCH DATA MANAGER <BR>PEROMNES POST LEVEL 5 <BR><BR><BR>(Scroll down for Afrikaans) <BR><BR><BR>In the pursuit of the ideals of excellence and diversity, the<BR>University of Pretoria wishes to invite applications for the above<BR>vacancy. <BR><BR>The University of Pretoria's commitment to quality makes us one of the<BR>top research Universities in the country and gives us a competitive<BR>advantage in international science and technology development. <BR><BR><BR>RESPONSIBILITIES: <BR><BR>● Act as the primary advisor at UP regarding data management for<BR>research; <BR>● Contribute to the evaluation, development and usefulness of systems<BR>supporting storage and appropriate access to University research data; <BR>● Liaise with relevant internal and external groups to promote<BR>research data management; <BR>● Represent the University of Pretoria on research data management<BR>activities where appropriate; <BR>● Supervise and manage performance of staff. <BR><BR><BR>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <BR><BR>● Relevant doctorate in Information Science or related subject field;<BR><BR>● Five years of management experience in an academic library /<BR>information service or similar; <BR>● Knowledge of and experience in research data management and<BR>co-ordination; <BR>● Excellent knowledge of the information environment; <BR>● Excellent knowledge of the research process; <BR>● Experience of the development, implementation and maintenance of<BR>e-information systems; <BR>● Experience of the information / knowledge environment of teaching,<BR>learning and research; <BR>● Project management and change management experience; <BR>● Research and development experience; <BR>● Ability to adapt and apply information technology developments for<BR>the information and knowledge environment; <BR>● In-depth understanding and knowledge of the information industry,<BR>information science, teaching, learning and research / e-Research in a<BR>higher education environment; <BR>● Proven management skills, strategic thinking, conceptual and<BR>holistic abilities. <BR><BR><BR>The total remuneration package for this position ranges from<BR>approximately R450 765 to R574 505 (excluding medical aid benefits) as<BR>determined by UP policy guidelines.
