Less than two months after its launch, Stellenbosch University’s (SU) new website<http://www.sun.ac.za/english/Lists/news/DispForm.aspx?ID=100> has been voted "best Sharepoint site of the month"  for June 2013 on TopSharePoint.com<http://www.topsharepoint.com/>. <http://www.topsharepoint.com/>

Apart from Trinity College in London -  February 2011 website of the month -  SU is the only tertiary institution to have accomplished this feat. 

“It is an honour to receive this type of international recognition alongside other websites such as the City of London,” says Ms Lize Esterhuizen, Head: e-Communication Development at SU.

Every month the best website is chosen from a list of the most outstanding SharePoint-based website designs based on usability, design, creativity, improved user experience, functionality and the ability to include modern techniques.

Stellenbosch University is the first higher education institution in South Africa (and the world) to have used the 2013 version of SharePoint as a foundation for the creation of a new corporate website.

The University had already used Microsoft SharePoint when its HOPE Project website<http://thehopeproject.co.za/hope/Pages/default.aspx>, Alumni website<http://alumni.sun.ac.za/english/Pages/Home.aspx> and Library and Information Services’ <http://library.sun.ac.za/english/Pages/default.aspx> websites were all built on SharePoint 2010.
