Speeding up the availability/publishing of research

One advantage within the open access environment and self-publishing/managing SU research output, is that the publication of research can be accelerated. Two examples, with usage statistics generated:

Guidelines for submitting your thesis/dissertation to SUNScholar for April 2014

According to Stellenbosch University policy, it is mandatory for Masters/Doctoral students completing a thesis/dissertation for graduation purposes, to submit the final copy (i.e. following ethical clearance, reviewing, examination, corrections, language editing, plagiarism detection etc.) of the thesis/dissertation in electronic format to SUNScholar (http://scholar.sun.ac.za). For guidelines on the nomination process in order to submit, and the submission process itself, please visit:  Library Web (http://library.sun.ac.za/)  >>  How do I?  >>  Submit my thesis online. Inquiries can be directed to e-mail scholar at sun.ac.za<mailto:scholar at sun.ac.za> or tel.: 021 808 9046/9139. Final dates for submission for students graduating during April 2014 and December 2014:

26 Feb. 2014 for the April graduation
27 Nov. 2014 for the December graduation

Applications to have an embargo applied (sensitive theses/dissertations) should be submitted via the Faculty Secretary, to Senate.
