<b>What is a Trust Marker?</b></div>

A trust marker is a visible or machine-readable signal that helps someone judge whether information, a person, organisation, journal, or platform can be trusted. In scholarly publishing, trust markers show transparency, research integrity, and credibility.
For example, they help readers, indexers, funders, and infrastructure services decide whether a journal article, journal, author, or publisher is reliable.</div>

E.g. In <b>ORCID</b>, a Trust Marker can mean information in an ORCID record that was validated and added by an ORCID member organisation, making the source of that information clearer.</div>

So, simply put: <b>a Trust Marker is evidence that helps others trust the scholarly record.</b> It does not prove that something is perfect, but it gives users signals that the content, contributor, or platform follows recognised standards.</div>
