Thank you to those of you who answered the survey or responded by email. So far there have been twelve responses. Ten institutions accepted the offer while two institutions rejected it. In the comments and feedback, four institutions indicated they were not
impressed with what Elsevier was offering or questioned Elsevier’s motivation. We realise that Elsevier’s proposal is in line with their new strategic direction of focusing on Research Data Management, but we believe that it will benefit our members overall
in terms increasing awareness and acceptance of Open Access as well as increasing research visibility. So we see it as win-win. </p>
