<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">First, thank you for being part of the ORCID South Africa consortium. It is a while since we've communicated with consortium members, and I so I thought I'd share some updates.</span> </p>

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The South African consortium has just welcomed it's
</span><a href="https://www.tenet.ac.za/services/orcid/consortium-members"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#1155CC">tenth member</span></a><span style="font-size:11.0pt">, with a couple of others in the pipeline.</span> </p>

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;background:white">We've started an</span><a href="https://www.tenet.ac.za/services/orcid"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black;background:white;text-decoration:none">
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#1155CC;background:white">ORCID-specific section on TENET's web page</span></a><span style="font-size:11.0pt;background:white">, which currently includes information on the consortium itself as well as some useful
links to resources both at orcid.org and from some of the other consortiums. We'd eventually like to include some South African specific uses cases and success stories there too. </span> </p>

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;background:white">I'm pleased to announce we've recently appointed two staff members at TENET whose roles will include providing local ORCID support. Both come out of the higher education
sector and already have some ORCID experience - however, together with ORCID, we'll also be facilitating some additional training for them. The first of these starts in March and we’ll introduce them to the community in due course. In the meantime, I'm happy
to provide assistance where I can.</span> </p>
