In December 2016, the <a href="http://www.codata.org/uploads/parallel_session-program_8dec_version29nov2016.pdf">African Open Science Platform was launched during the SFSA</a>, we had a <a href="http://www.codata.org/uploads/side_event_workshop-program_7dec_version30nov2016%20(1).pdf">high-level key stakeholder meeting with participants from Africa</a>, and SA also hosted a <a href="http://www.codata.org/uploads/programme_12_13dec_version30nov2016.pdf">workshop</a> facilitated by Cameron Neylon on input to a <a href="http://www.codata.org/uploads/programme_12_13dec_version30nov2016.pdf">possible Open Science position statement for South Africa</a>.
