Applicants with disabilities will be preferred where equal suitability for the post is demonstrated.<br>In particular, the following teaching areas must be covered:</div><div><br>•<span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>concepts, methods and models of open access, open data, etc.,<br>•<span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>electronic publishing incl. university theses repositories, university publishing houses, data journals, etc.,<br>•<span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>principles of different licensing models for the publication of articles, data, etc. (e.g. Creative Commons).<br><br>Should the professorship be held on a full-time basis, over and above this, a commitment to the following teaching areas would be desirable:<br>•<span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>takeover of integrative classes on the principles of descriptive cataloguing with a view to the current development of the systems of rules and workflows,<br>•<span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>principles of copyright, personality rights, etc.,<br>•<span style="white-space:pre-wrap"> </span>aspects of information ethics in connection with publication processes.<br>The subject areas mentioned should primarily be taught on the "Library Science" course but also be integrated within the Bachelor's courses in "Information and Data Management" and "Archiving" as well as the Master's course in "Information Science" offered by the faculty. For this reason, a particular aptitude for integration and working in a team, and a high degree of readiness to engage in interdisciplinary work are essential.<br>Suitable candidates will meet the conditions of employment as set out in § 41, para. 1, nos. 1 to 3 and 4b of the Brandenburg Universities Act (BbgHG). In addition, candidates will preferably have in-depth practical experience of working in the field of information science (e.g. in academic libraries) and have relevant teaching experience and university didactic skills. Furthermore, the requirements also include participation in interdisciplinary, cross-departmental courses that are oriented towards the didactic principle of research-based learning, and the delivery of English-language and online-supported courses. Moreover, a high degree of commitment to the strategic and profile development of the Bachelor's programme in "Library Science" as well as the in-service distance learning programme in "Library Management" is expected. The requirements of the professorship include a commitment to involvement in academic self-government, applied research and continuing academic education. The professorship is financed by the state of Brandenburg’s programme to expand student numbers and is initially limited to a salaried employment relationship of five years. It may be possible to offer the post holder a limited or unlimited extension to his or her position subject to the availability of budgetary means, a positive evaluation and continuing incorporation in the development plans of the University without the post being re-advertised.
