<DIV>DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY SERVICES<BR>UP SPACE DATA CAPTURER (PERMANENT PART-TIME POST FOR 25 HOURS PER<BR>WEEK)<BR>PEROMNES POST LEVEL 13<BR><BR>In pursuit of the ideals of excellence and diversity, the University of<BR>Pretoria wishes to invite applications for the above vacancy.<BR><BR>The University of Pretoria's commitment to quality makes us one of the<BR>top research Universities in the country and gives us a competitive<BR>advantage in international science and technology development.<BR><BR><BR>RESPONSIBILITIES:<BR><BR>The incumbent will be responsible for:<BR><BR>Capturing data for the UP Space institutional repository;<BR>Capturing data for the a variety of sub-programmes in the Open<BR>Scholarship Office, such as research papers, ETDs, special collection<BR>materials;<BR>Rendering a client support service including personal, telephone and<BR>online contact, consultation and help.<BR><BR>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<BR><BR>Grade 12 and one year work experience in the information sector;<BR>Proven experience in Adobe Acrobat and the Microsoft Suit (including<BR>e-mails and web searches).<BR><BR>REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):<BR><BR>Very good language and word processing skills;<BR>Very good computer skills;<BR>Proven knowledge of institutional repositories;<BR>Proven knowledge of copyright and Creative Commons licencing.<BR><BR>PLEASE NOTE: All shortlisted candidates may be required to participate<BR>in relevant skills assessments as part of the selection process.<BR><BR>The total remuneration package for this position ranges from<BR>approximately R 98 303 to R 114 701 as determined by UP policy<BR>guidelines. (These amounts include the University’s contributions to<BR>standard UP benefits, namely provident fund, group life and funeral<BR>cover, but exclude contributions to medical aid, as the latter varies<BR>per employee.)
