Please do so, we are quite confused on this side as well, UPSpace dropping from the July 2012 rankings in position no 184 to all of a sudden to 267 ! I've send an email to dr Aquillo who informed me that the latest rankings is the correct version... There must
be something that we are missing.<br>

I agree. We supply the content and vehicle but it is not possible for us to advance the linking.<br>
The research office, researcher and Information librarians are best placed to make that happen.<br>

We had a very interesting meeting with Prof Mouton from Stellenbosch.<br>
His insights opened up a whole world of issues regarding ranking that we weren't aware of.<br>
It might be worthwhile to speak to him about this issues directly.<br>
<br>
Do you have any ideas for the IR advancing the universities rankings at all? Our IR is doing well, but our University site not. From the top of my head I would think that making links to the full text in the IR might help?<br>

SUNScholar is poor on visibility.<br>
Visibility depends on the MajesticSEO ratings.<br>
The MajesticSEO ratings are based on the number hyperlinks referring back to the domain in question.<br>
A young repository will take time to get hyperlinks on other websites.<br>
So the older the repository with more links referring to it, will rise in the ranks.<br>
This is where the help of librarians, the research office etc.. is needed, to encourage others to link to items in the repository.<br>
