*Beyond the Ivory Tower: The Real-World Importance of Open Access Today*

OA advocates proclaim the importance of scholarly information as a public
good. Access to knowledge has been codified in the UN Declaration of Human
Rights (Article 19). But what is actually happening on the ground? *Does it
matter* that we make scholarly research open - including to those beyond
academia?

In these unpredictable times, four US based speakers will be exploring this
topic and taking audience questions: Ameet Doshi (Princeton), Beth Daley
(Executive Editor of The Conversation, US); Joy Connelly (ACLS President)
and Lacey LaGrone MD (trauma surgeon, UCHealth Colorado)
