[IRTalk] Prof Fetene (Ethiopian Academy of Sciences) appointed as co-chair of IAP-Policy

Congratulations to Prof Masresha Fetene for being appointed as co-chair of IAP Policy!

During the AOSP project we have worked very closely with Prof Fetene, and he is a huge advocate for Open Access and Open Science. We also worked with Prof Fetene when we hosted the first AOSP Data Science Workshop in collaboration with CODATA and RDA during June this year, and are incredibly thankful for their support in making the workshop a huge success.

"IAP is pleased to announce the new co-chair of IAP-Policy, Professor Masresha Fetene, Executive Director of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences. Professor Fetene will succeed Professor Daya Reddy, who has served as IAP-Policy co-chair for six years, through the transition from its predecessor, the InterAcademy Council (IAC).
Professor Fetene is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences and a Founding Fellow of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences."

We hope that - through his leadership - other Academies of Science will also play a bigger role towards implementing OS and OA policies on national level.
