I would suggest you hammer the line that Open a science is all about optimising the public investments in science and that it means also levelling twe playing field so that all universities and academics in RSA/global can take part in research at the same starting conditions. The data will be as open for UCT as well as for the university of Mapumalanga.
Good luck
Jc

Subject: Your input re the SA Draft White Paper on Science, Technology and Innovation

Dear Colleagues

South Africa has recently released its Draft White Paper on Science, Technology and Innovation.

Open Science is also covered as part of this White Paper, and we would highly value your input on this part, but also the rest. This an excellent opportunity to make sure the SA science of the future is globally aligned, and hopefully other countries can also benefit. Different perspectives from different experiences and backgrounds bring so much value, and we would like to invite you to also contribute and give input.
