This week institutions from all over the world are celebrating Open Access Week<http://www.openaccessweek.org/>. Below was shared by Botswana Colleagues (specifically Bobana Badisang), also in building up to International Data Week 2018<http://internationaldataweek.org/>, taking place form 5-8 November 2018 in Gaborone, Botswana. Dear Colleagues

This morning lets’ recognize  Nata Community Library and Cultural Centre; BOU Library; BIUST Library; BU Library with exciting scheduled activities in commemoration of the Open Access Week.  Congratulations colleagues!

More activities are filling up the calendar and we are still updating so it will be colourful at the end of the OA week.  Actually activities continue into next week as a précis  the International Data Week.  The boldness of it all is the significance of IR presence for Botswana.

1.    This morning (23rd October) Botswana Open University (BOU) Library not only foregrounds scholarly discourse on OA by bringing together Open Knowledge personalities but also  showcases BOU Repository. This is a great achievement for scholarship in Botswana. The event will also unpack activities of the International Data Week 2018.

2.    This morning, Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST)  Library not only zeroes in on OA awareness activities for their researchers and the library community but they also showcase the BIUST Institutional Repository Pilot Project.

3.    This morning (23rd October), Botho University (BU) Library, Teaching and Research Excellence (LTRE) celebrates through among others OA seminar  and a Movie. They will follow with
an Open day-showcasing LTRE services. Next week on 29th October 2018, the Emerald's Library Advisory Network will have an Open Access Webinar.

4.    Nata Community Library and Cultural Centre will on 25th  October, hold a  One Day Workshop: Advocacy on Open Access
