Dear Colleague,

*If you write scripts or develop software for research projects as part of
your job or know people who do (even if you're not formally or officially a
software developer), please read on...*

Please help us collect information about* people who are involved in
development of software/scripts for research purposes* in South Africa and
beyond.

The Software Sustainability Initiative has been running a campaign to
support people in the role of software developers in research for some
years now. They have made incredible progress over the last couple of
years, partly because they can make compelling arguments thanks to the
information collected through this survey.

South Africa first took part in the global survey last year. See more info
at
https://www.software.ac.uk/what-do-we-know-about-rses-results-our-international-surveys
.

*The survey doesn't take long to complete (15 minutes), but it could make a
big difference to the community: bit.ly/RSESurvey2018

*Deadline: 3 December 2018*

We would love to hear from you.

Kind regards,

Anelda
