Subject: [IRTalk] Visibility of Academic Journals on Wikipedia

Dear IR Administrators,

I've created pages and categories on Wikipedia to assist with the addition of academic journals to Wikipedia, to further enhance the visibility of journals published by South African institutions, especially where those journals are held on local repositories (e.g. OJS platforms). Although probably not perfect, please look at the journals created (e.g. African Music (journal<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Music_(journal)>)) on Wikipedia and how the categories are used to link to Academic journals published in South Africa<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Academic_journals_published_in_South_Africa>. Ina, maybe a good idea is to work through the accredited South African publication first?

I am in the process of doing the same for other periodicals e.g. professional body magazines (e.g. IEASA).

Please let me know if assistance is needed in listing your publication/s.
