Hi Hussein,
The situation you have described is very feasible and there are ways it can
be mitigated. It is important to have a Disaster Recovery Strategy (see
http://wiki.lib.sun.ac.za/index.php?search=backup&title=Special%3ASearch&go=Go
).

Depending on your server setup, you can backup the whole machine where your
repository is running (if you are using a virtual machine) or the important
files (Database, Assetstore, configurations, customisations, statistics and
any other you may consider important) in case of 'bare metal or physical
server' setup. The backups should be stored on a different device from the
machine running the repository and if possible a copy of the backups stored
offsite. Once you run into problems you can easily recover from the backups.
