Dear Colleagues

As Cameron Neylon said in an article before - black lists/predatory lists of scholarly journals are not sustainable, and should not be encouraged, for various valid reasons. There are nowadays also service providers "selling" black lists (through subscriptions), which in my view is the only thing worse than a black list - making money from questionable journals, who are also in the business of making money - therefore questionable. See

Blacklists are technically infeasible, practically unreliable and unethical. Period.

In stead of focusing on questionable journals, please refer your researchers/editors to the Directory of Open Access Journals<https://doaj.org/>, where you will be able to find all high quality and trusted Open Access journals. If the OA journal is not listed there, please consider it as possibly questionable, and contact the DOAJ to inquire about the status of the journal?

Also add the link to the DOAJ to your library web page if not there yet, and assist OA journals to apply for inclusion, and help our SA journals to become more internationally visible. Apply for inclusion here<https://doaj.org/application/new>.

Kind regards
Ina
