[IRTalk] Open APC initiative releases datasets on fees paid for Open Access journal articles

ASSAf was invited to present a paper on the African Open Science Platform project during the SANLiC Conference in Durban, KZN. During this event Dr Ralf Schimmer invited journals to make their journal APCs (Article Processing Charges) publicly available on the Open APC<https://treemaps.intact-project.org/> page. See https://treemaps.intact-project.org/apcdata/openapc/#publisher/ and experience this very clever tool.

The Open APC initiative<https://intact-project.org/openapc> releases datasets on fees paid for open access journal articles by universities and research institutions under an open database license. Open APC, which is also supported by the DINI Working Group Electronic Publishing<https://dini.de/english/>, is located at Bielefeld University Library<http://www.ub.uni-bielefeld.de/english/>. Since October 2015 Open APC is part of the INTACT<https://intact-project.org/> project.
