​T​
he Librarian is a member of an assigned Faculty Services Team, which
provides several services designed to optimally meet the needs of the
primary user group, namely the staff & students of the given Faculty. These
services include the provision of high level subject information services;
collection development and management in support of teaching, learning and
especially research in the Faculty; the training of staff and students in
the principles and techniques of effective information retrieval; and the
delivery of regular & ongoing liaison activities.  In addition the
Librarian may be responsible for, or share responsibility with the other
Librarian in the team (where there are two Librarians), the line management
of an Assistant Librarian or Library Assistant
