Dear Colleagues

DOI = Digital Object Identifier for a digital item. Print and Online ISSNs are also unique identifiers, in addition to persistent URLs for example assigned to items in repositories, and ORCIDs for researchers.

See how many universities/faculties/departments are registered with Crossref (only one of a few DOI agencies), manage their own DOIs, assign DOIs to IR-items, articles in their scholarly journals, digital documents, datasets, and all digital. DOIs, metadata, ORCIDs and more becoming connected more and more.
