[Irtalk] Follow-up on the Norwegian List (Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers)

Dear Colleagues

This email following the previous communication on the Norwegian List, of which the full name is: Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers.

The registry is available as spread sheets, or as a searchable online database<https://dbh.nsd.uib.no/publiseringskanaler/Forside.action?request_locale=en>. 25 000+ journal titles are assigned certain weights, which can briefly be summarised as follows, as applied within a Norwegian context:

Level 0: No funding for articles published in these journals (8 SA journal titles have a weight of 0 allocated)
Level 1: Partially funded (123 SA journal titles have a weight of 1 allocated)
Level 2: High impact journals, fully funded (none SA journal titles)

We are waiting for a response from the DHET, as to how the weights will apply within a SA context.

The Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD)<http://www.nsd.uib.no/nsd/english/index.html> - which is responsible for the list - has indicated that they are in the process of updating and translating the criteria for inclusion of a journal title in their registry to English, as well as the application for inclusion in the registry. We hope to communicate more information on this registry during the NSEF (journal editors) meeting on 9 September 2015.
