We would like to invite you to a series of webinar training sessions aimed at acquiring social media skills which can be used within your specific library community. Learn to use these tools - to increase your productivity, reach out to your users, promote services, train users (young & old) and pass on social media skills, become part of global discussions, and more.

Brief biographies
Nikki Crowster holds the portfolio of LIASA National Public Relations Officer (2014-2016) and in her day job is the Coordinator of the Cape Library Consortium (CALICO), the Western Cape based academic library consortium, a project of the Cape Higher Education Consortium (CHEC). Nikki has more than 30 years library experience starting off in the public library sector before moving onto the sphere of academic libraries. Current responsibilities include the management of consortium operations and of the shared library and information system. Her areas of interest include educational technology particularly the study of the impact of ICT on teaching and learning in higher education and, instructional design; strategic management; business systems analysis; ICT governance and social media. She holds an MBibl, a Post-graduate Diploma in Educational Technology and Certificate in Business Systems Analysis
Karen du Toit has been a librarian and archivist for more than 25 years. The last ten years she has been working at the SABC Radio Archives<http://www.sabc.co.za/wps/portal/rbf/librariesdetail?id=ce4eca804c14b0e48f6f8f8f9f800553> as an Afrikaans archivist. She has been blogging from 2008 in a personal capacity. From 2009 she and another colleague were tasked to start a Web 2.0 presence for the SABC Media Libraries<http://www.sabc.co.za/wps/portal/rbf/librariesdetail?id=ce4eca804c14b0e48f6f8f8f9f800553>. That included a website as well as a blog, with all the other social media platforms incorporated in the mix. She is passionate about blogging as a way to further one's own professional development, but also to increase the awareness and reach of libraries and archives in the local community, as well as reaching a global audience.

Ingrid Thomson has been actively involved in LIASA related activities and governance for many years.
