[Irtalk] Copyright Amendment Bill Conference

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) invites persons involved in the copyright-based
industries to attend the Copyright Amendment Bill Conference to be held in Gauteng on 27 August 2015.

The Conference will discuss the proposals made in the Amendment Bill and solicit inputs from experts in the field. Topics will include the collective management of copyright, access to knowledge, Information Communication Technology (ICT), minimum contracts, flexibilities and limitations and the commercial re-use of creative works.

Speakers Include:
Former retired Judge Ian Farlam
Mr Eugene Mthethwa of the South African Music Industry Council (SAMIC),
Mr Tony Kgoroge of the Creative Industry Federation of South Africa (CIFSA),
Mr. Fortune Mgwili-Sibanda of Google,
Dr. Tobias Schonwetter of the University of Cape Town
