Librarians more and more are required to be familiar with the scholarly publishing workflow and roles in order to better support and advise researchers in terms of good quality open and subscription journal publishing. The same applies to editors of journals, as well as other role players, such as layout editors, copy editors and more.

DOIs have become very important, and are more and more applied across the digital landscape – for theses, dissertations, data sets and many more.
