Dear Colleagues
I know more and more institutions (also in SA) are following the ORCID<http://orcid.org/> route. Thought I'll share the following email signature with you as an example, where the person included her ORCID as part of her email signature. Maybe also for SA researchers. A full online profile for researchers, without the need to start an online profile from scratch when moving to a new institution/university. A persistent URL for your personal profile page, independent of the institution you are representing.
Example:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Jennifer Lin
Senior Product Manager, PLOS
ORCID 0000-0002-9680-2328
1160 Battery St, Suite 100
San Francisco, CA 94111
415-935-2095
One can even hyperlink the ORCID e.g.:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Jennifer Lin
Senior Product Manager, PLOS
ORCID 0000-0002-9680-2328<http://orcid.org/0000-0002-9680-2328>
1160 Battery St, Suite 100
San Francisco, CA 94111
415-935-2095
Kind regards
Ina
