A science librarian argues that the panic over “predatory” open access
journals focuses on the limited problems caused by a few bad actors, and
we’d do better to focus on bigger issues, like the faults in the peer
review process. *She also points out that the big commercial journal
publishers may deserve the “predator” label more than the few bogus OA
