Although libraries' physical spaces have undergone many changes, the
supporting services often fail to keep pace. Many libraries offer the same
standard reference services they provided prior to developing these
technology-rich collaborative spaces. Information literacy instruction
programs often fail to connect to the newly developed spaces beyond taking
place in classrooms equipped with workstations for students; *they continue
to focus largely on information access rather than teaching students the
knowledge and skills they need to create and share information. *
