What do a nationalized petroleum company and a museum on Ethnology have in common ? They recently added their installations of DSpace to the Directory of Open Access Repositories.

Since our last post on this topic, 1st of October<http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=437844848767>, 52 DSpace repositories were added to OpenDOAR<http://www.opendoar.org/>, the most important registry of Open Access Repositories. Registration is free, but is carefully monitored by the OpenDOAR management.

Although some of these repositories are brand new (judging by the number of items or news on the homepage), others seem to be well established. It's amazing how strong Japan is represented here, with 27 listings. It puzzles me a bit why no new US repositories are added, while some institutions clearly make progress with DSpace in the US.
