<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;display:inline"></div>The City of Cape Town is in the process of finalising its Open Data Draft Policy.<br><br>The policy will assist the City to establish and incrementally populate a single online open data <br>
portal for information and data generated by the organisation that is free and accessible to members of the public.<br><br>The City generates a significant amount of data that could be useful to citizens. However this information is often located in archives and other sites which are not easily accessible to the public. The City would like to create a portal that is user friendly and accessible; with information that is machine-readable to enable public access and use this data.<br>
<br>Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 17 of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act <br>that Council is hereby affording the public, interested parties or groups opportunity for a period <br>of 30 days to submit comments, recommendations or input to the municipality.<div>
