One of the less celebrated features of San Diego’s new downtown library is
a cutting edge fiber-optic network that will allow the iconic nine-story
building to accommodate new technologies that haven’t been dreamed up yet.
City officials say the fiber network, which only a relative handful of
buildings across the nation have, *will allow the library to seamlessly add
new innovations and the exponential expansions in bandwidth they typically
require.*
