In that regard, one of the critical findings of the report centers on the
issue of digital media literacy and the subsequent challenges that literacy
creates for educators. The report reveals the significance of digital media
literacy in every discipline and profession but that formal training in
digital literacy skills and techniques is rarely found in teacher education
programs. Worse yet, the Horizon report reveals that formal training is
virtually non-existent in higher education.
