by Thomson Reuters includes only institutions in countries classified as
“emerging economies” by FTSE, including the “BRICS” nations of Brazil,
Russia, India, China and South Africa. The top universities ranking uses
the same methodology as the Times Higher Education World University
Rankings, covering all core missions of a world-class university -
teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook – using 13
carefully calibrated performance indicators.
